Traci Kanaan grew up in Berea, Ohio, a quiet middle class community on Cleveland’s west side. Her Italian mother loved opera, dance and theater. Her Lebanese father loved stock car racing, flea markets, and dirty jokes. Traci combined these influences to make essentially a musical comedy yard sale…you’ve seen it before, just not on display like this! Traci started taking piano lessons at the age of 4. Never able to play things they way they were written, she constantly improvised her piano lessons by making up funny lyrics, ultimately frustrating and burning out 8 classical piano teachers in 2 institutions before completing middle school. Somehow…Traci persisted in music and was accepted to Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio, graduating with a B.A. in Music and Business, and minors in Music Composition, Electronic Music, and Piano Performance. Her college degree cost her parents $60,000, and Traci happily uses her degree singing dick jokes in comedy clubs, describing her views on life as newly divorced and online dating, while taking care of her mother with uncontrolled diabetes and dementia. Her performances include a wide spectrum of musical styles including classical music, oldies, rock ‘n roll, country and rap. The Princess of Parodies is crowd favorite, and ultimately one of the funniest women in comedy you’ve never heard of!
